Symmetrix Software, Inc. Supports the Bryon Riesch Paralysis Foundation

Symmetrix Software, Inc. Supports the Bryon Riesch Paralysis Foundation

June 28, 2021, Pewaukee, WI –  Symmetrix Software, Inc was pleased to support the Bryon Riesch Paralysis Foundation by being an all-inclusive sponsor and participating in their annual golf outing earlier this month. The goal of the golf outing is to raise money and awareness for those living with paralysis. Over the past 20 years, The BRPF has raised close to $5.8 million at this event.

“When the opportunity came about to be a sponsor of this event, we didn’t think twice,” says Colin Luckmann, Managing Partner at Symmetrix. “One of our former employees, and still great friend, lives with the challenges of a spinal cord injury, and knowing that the research funded by the BRPF could help him, as well as others around the world is something we are truly grateful for.”

“We’re equally proud that Symmetrix employee and leader, Lori Bruss, sits on the board of directors for this foundation and that we can continue to support her efforts to advance it,” Luckmann continued, “And personally hearing Bryon’s passion and inspiration to others is something that is truly humbling. Knowing we are helping take the burden off of someone living with a spinal injury or helping researchers come closer to finding a cure is what this is all about.”

After an accident in 1998 left Bryon Riesch paralyzed from the chest down, his loved ones put together a fundraiser to help him through the difficult transition, which then transitioned into a full-fledged foundation in 2001 to help others who, like Bryon, are faced with the difficult situation of paralysis.

The Bryon Riesch Paralysis Foundation’s (BRPF) goal is to find a cure for paralysis through funding the latest in medical research and to provide assistance to those that suffer from neurological disorders. This research not only benefits spinal cord injuries but also stroke victims, people diagnosed with ALS, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other neurological disorders.

The BRPF works within the paralysis community providing charitable grants to help make life easier for people suffering from paralysis. Equally important, the BRPF provides scholarships to individuals suffering from paralysis or families with a parent dealing with a neurological disorder.

April 14, 2021, Pewaukee, WI – Symmetrix Software Inc. is proud to announce and welcome Paul Eiche as a Senior Software Engineer to their in-house programming team. Eiche brings over 15 years of software development, project management, and leadership to Symmetrix. He will lead the development of new software solutions while enhancing Symmetrix’s current products, including the SymX technology platform.

Most recently, Eiche served as a lead developer for Hal Leonard, LLC.  In this capacity, he developed over 12 websites and focused on back-end database management and web accessibility. Prior to that, Eiche served as Assistant Network Administrator focusing on maintaining software updates, software audits and new user training.

Eiche also comes to Symmetrix with more than 15 years of experience in full-stack web development.  His experience ranges from legacy to modern web technologies including jQuery, Gatsby, Bootstrap, Sass, WordPress and more.  Eiche will work alongside Symmetrix’s team of senior software developers. Together they will continue to advance Symmetrix’s software development, as well as bring new and exciting solutions to the manufacturing profession at large.

“Throughout its history, Symmetrix has been privileged to attract talented developers that contribute to our strong solutions and culture, and Eiche is no exception” says Tom Barth, Managing Partner of Symmetrix Software, Inc.  “With Paul’s background and experience, he brings great depth of technology, but also a new insight into the accessibility discipline of user experience. This moves us forward in our effort to help our clients drive usability and profitability through the technology we provide. He is an asset to Symmetrix Software and we are thrilled to have him as part of our team,” adds Barth.

Transfer of Ownership

April 8, 2021, Pewaukee, WI – Symmetrix Software is excited to announce a full ownership transition to Colin Luckmann and Tom Barth. Bill Steiner, founder of Symmetrix Software and Ken Kauer, Vice President, have sold their holdings in the corporation to Luckmann and Barth, who will remain as sole partners. Symmetrix continues its tradition of not taking on outside investors as part of their corporation and are proud to have Colin and Tom as a foundation of leadership for the future.

Symmetrix, in business for 30 years as of April 1st, 2021, continues to be a thought leader and technology provider for a range of global clients. The organization has been built on a culture of teams who are passionate about listening and learning, then designing and delivering software solutions. This ownership transition is grounded in, and will allow Symmetrix to evolve, based on those core principles.

Bill Steiner, Founder and now President Emeritus, and Ken Kauer, Vice President and Solution Architect, are staying with Symmetrix for the foreseeable future and will continue as fulltime development resources. Bill speaks with passion when he says, “Chris (Olsen) and I didn’t start Symmetrix so that we could run a company. We started it because we loved to develop software, and we saw an opportunity to do that on at least partly our own terms.  The notion of inventing or architecting an approach to solving a complicated problem, and then actually building and delivering that solution to a customer that’s not only satisfied, but thrilled with the result is tough to beat. It’s what Ken and I continue to love to this day and we are excited for that to continue.”

Colin Luckmann and Tom Barth will each be taking on the title of ‘Managing Partner’. With these titles, Symmetrix, not a company that is highly stratified or traditionally focused on formalities, does want to make it clear that Colin and Tom are leaders and decision makers of the corporation, but are continually focused on their roles of being solution resources for the Symmetrix clients.

“While we are so proud to carry on as leaders of Symmetrix and will look to evolve Symmetrix internally and for our incredible clients, today is a day of thanks to Bill and Ken for all they have done, and will continue to do for the company”, Luckmann said. “We are positioned strongly for the next 30 years of Symmetrix’s creativity and growth based on our past and our potential.”

Sell us on Ice Fishing

Coming into an office everyday overlooking beautiful Pewaukee Lake is inspiring. Even when that lake is a block of snow-covered ice. But we’re having trouble understanding what motivates the folks who head out there when it is -20 degrees on a Monday morning. We’re inspired by the recreational and peaceful nature of ice-fishing in general, but it seems like neither of those things today. How do we turn that into an inspiring sight?

Cross-referencing Tool Goes Live!

Symmetrix has been doing cross-reference tools for years, but in our latest revision, we are relying on the knowledge of the masses to scale that data up quickly AND to help validate it.

Featuring cross references that are crowd-sourced from our great user community, the ability to quickly see crucial information when swapping out legacy or competitive parts is driving the sales of new parts for our clients.

Understanding the fundamental features and relationships of complex products is at the core of capabilities for Symmetrix. Doing so within a manufacturer’s domain is challenging enough, but understanding how that applies across-domain and verticals is a differentiator.

Call or email us for more details on how we can do this for your organization!

Symmetrix Software Announces Office Move to Accommodate Accelerated Growth and Drive Innovation

Pewaukee, Jan. 19, 2021 – Symmetrix Software, a leading provider of software solution development and consulting for almost 30 years, is excited to announce that they have relocated their main corporate office to Pewaukee Wisconsin.

The office building, directly on Pewaukee Lake, features the necessary space for growth, a continued focus on privacy for employees, and an enhanced focus on collaboration and comfort.

“We are extremely excited that we can build on our developer-focused culture with this new destination office,” commented Tom Barth, Vice President, Symmetrix Software, Inc. “With even more of our staff working remotely, we want the time when we are together in the office to be special. Watching the sun set over the lake in the winter or watching the boaters go out in the summer while sitting on our private balcony is inspiring and relaxing. It’s a real joy to be in this space with such a wonderful team.”

In addition to the lake amenities, the new office boasts an abundance of natural light, conference and team areas focused on in-person and virtual collaboration, and the striking absence of cubicles. The office is also a short walk from downtown Pewaukee and the only public beach in Waukesha County.

“We are also proud to call Pewaukee home. We have been immediately struck by the friendliness of the people here and look to form long-lasting relationships with the community,” added Barth. Symmetrix is already working with the Pewaukee High School mentorship program and will continue to develop relationships with the local schools and universities to advance the technology culture of Lake Country.
